i heart keenwah was started by four friends: fiteh, ravi, sarah, and terah. after touring bolivia and learning about the versatility of an awesome little seed called quinoa, we returned home frustrated by the lack of ready-to-eat quinoa options. we decided to do something about it and got to work in the kitchen, mixing quinoa with other all-natural ingredients to craft a crunchy, sweet treat that satisfied our cravings.

creating a ready-to-eat quinoa snack made us really think about what is important to us about the food we eat. we want short ingredient lists that we can recognize and understand, not ones crowded with chemical names. we want minimally processed food that maintains its nutrition content. in short, we want real food, not laboratory food. this is the essence of what i heart keenwah is creating

i heart keenwah also embodies the story of a little company that could. we started selling our snacks in neighborhood and artisanal markets in chicago and new york in 2009. by 2011 we had refined our recipe, developed shelf stable packaging, and started selling directly to specialty food markets. now we are sold by major food distributors throughout the united states and canada and can be found in over 1,000 specialty  and grocery outlets. along the way we have grown the i heart keenwah team, learned an incredible amount, and brought a real food snacking experience to hundreds of thousands of people. we couldn't ask for  anything more!
