After the Taste of Ravenswood, a tour of restaurants and breweries right in the Northwest Chicago neighborhood I Heart Keenwah calls home, we were totally blown away by how many truly unique brewing companies are operating right here in Chicago.
We decided to send our co-founder, Sarah, an avid home brewer, on a mission to learn more about some of these breweries, and to pair our quinoa snacks up with their beers. We'll be releasing the video on St. Patrick's Day, but in the meantime we're excited to introduce you to Arcade Brewery!
Arcade Brewery was founded by Chris Tourre and Lance Curran. One peek at their labels and the influence of comic books, video games and offbeat artwork is apparent. The guys specialize in ales, and brew up a variety of seasonal beers highlighting that malty profile.
We loved how community-oriented Arcade is - evident most recently in a collaboration with Gene's Sausage Shop, a famous Chicago beer-and-meat mecca. (Disclaimer for vegan readers: our own vegan expert Natalie frequents Gene's for their wide variety of fancy mustards.)
It's all the details that makes Arcade so fun - like their token bottle caps that you can actually trade in at participating bars for t-shirts and other swag, and their crowd-sourced label art that gets the whole community involved in every beer they brew.
We had tons of fun hanging out with these guys and hearing more about their approach to pairing beers with snacks. Stay tuned for the video featuring some of Chris' favorite pairings! Learn more about Arcade Brewery at ArcadeBrewery.com.
