less than 2 seconds. that’s how long people look at a package. that’s if they even look at it at all.
it’s up to you. you are the entrepreneur. what do you want to tell people in this brief moment you have to connect with them? you can’t tell them that you’re grain free granola, non-gmo, sustainable, organic, gluten free, vegan, paleo friendly, all natural, woman owned, and fair trade. do we want to be all these things? yes, probably. but you don’t have the time to tell them everything about yourself. save some mystery. god knows between facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, blogs, and youtube you’ll be able to find a place for all those other stories you want to tell.
think carefully about the two (at most three) most important messages that you want to convey. what resonates most with your consumer at the point of purchase? you can tell the rest of your story somewhere else.
